PMS Boys

The PMS Boys were formed in 1992 in Dayton, Ohio out of the ruins of a completely unlistenable band called the Freak Bros. (no, not the current R&B act). Over time, the PMS Boys became fairly listenable, mostly by accident.

The members of the PMS Boys were Michael Chabinyc, Rik Lain, Chris Lett, and Michael Lain, and at times Tony Paris, Matt Duncan, and Doug Lain. They released three albums in cassette-only format each year for three years starting in 1992 and concluded their careers in 1995 after releasing a cassette and video of their only concert.

The PMS Boys released Teaching Mike to Play in 1992 and French Hockey Babe in 1993. Teaching Mike to Play was recorded mostly using instruments left around by Maximum Entropy (another band some of the Boys were part of). French Hockey Babe had the best title of all of the cassettes but was by far the worst musically.

In 1994, they released their most varied and interesting album, Smokin' Clams. It was by far the most listenable of their albums to that point and we are proud to present it in mp3 format for the first time ever. Unfortunately, it was roundly ignored everywhere and by everyone.

In the summer of 1994, the PMS Boys played a concert for the first and last time. A cassette drawn from the performance entitled Better Than God was put out. The video of the concert is now available for the first time ever in QuickTime format. PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE DAMN THING IS HUGE AND WILL TAKE A LONG TIME TO DOWNLOAD. DIAL-UP USERS SHOULD JUST FORGET ABOUT IT.

At this point the band threw in the towel. However, the members reformed in 1995 under the name Teen Age Slug Girl and recorded one cassette titled Penishead Chudbuddy, but following that, it was the end of the road.

During their brief and none-too-memorable career, the PMS Boys distinguished themselves for being among the first bands to have a web presence. Unfortunately the original page has disappeared into the ether, but you can still find us at UBL and various places around the web.
